What We Believe

In essentials, unity.
In non-essentials, liberty.
In all things, love.

We believe that God is the Creator and Ruler of the Universe.
He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Mark 1:9-11; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
We believe in His full divinity and full humanity, His sinless life, His substitutionary death on the cross for sinners, His bodily resurrection, His ascension and future return.

John 1:1-14; 1 Corinthians 15:3; Luke 24:39; Luke 24:51; Acts 1:9-11

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells those who put their faith in Jesus.
He convicts us of sin, produces change in our lives, and empowers us for gospel witness.

Romans 8:9-10; John 14:17; John 16:8; Galatians 5:22-23, Acts 1:8

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him.

However,  through the fall the entire human race was separated from God. As a result, man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own effort alone.

Genesis 3; Ephesians 2:8-9; Genesis 1:27, 9:6; Psalms 51:5; Romans 5:12, 3:23

We believe that salvation was purchased through the blood of Jesus Christ,
which was shed on the cross, and provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, the only means to salvation is belief in Christ’s substitutionary death and resurrection.

Acts 4:12, 13:38-39; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 4:4-5, 5:1; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 1:4-5

We believe that every word in the original writings of Scripture is inspired by God and without error.
It is accurate in all matters to which it speaks. The Scriptures consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the foundation of the faith and practice of Apex Community Church.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21

We believe that because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in salvation for eternity.

Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.

John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5

We believe that mankind was created to exist for eternity.

We believe there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. The righteous to everlasting life in the New Creation, the unrighteous to judgment and condemnation in hell.

Daniel 12:2-3; Romans 8:21-22; Revelation 21:1-8

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head.
The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world.

Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:24-30; 1 Corinthians 12:4-13, 27

We believe that the Bible sets forth two ordinances, the Lord’s Supper and water baptism.
The Lord’s Supper is to be celebrated regularly in remembrance of Christ’s death on the cross, and in expectation of His return. Water baptism is an outward testimony of a person’s belief in Christ. Immersion is the ideal means set forth in Scripture.

Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16; Acts 8:12, 36-38, 9:18, 10:47; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image.

Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life.

Genesis 1:27; Psalms 139
